They say the Home Page is dead. Thanks to social networks like Facebook and Twitter, thanks to Dark Social like email and instant messaging, most web sailors find themselves entering through the side door; a hyperlink from someone to something specific: a story about friendship, a song about love, a photo of friends.
I want you to know that when you come to my digital home there is a front door. I’ve even got a welcome mat. And while I take your coat, let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is DJ DeWitt. I am on the verge of graduating from Northwestern University as an English and International Studies Major. I have spent more than half of my life designing video games, a passion which has evolved into an obsessive relationship with Media and Technology. This means that I pay serious attention to words that include but are not limited to: Technology, Social Media, Web Services, Digital Media, Web Publishing, Journalism, Game Development, Gamification, Digital Marketing, Mobile, Media Platforms, Entertainment, and Design. If you are a googlebot, that list just told you a fraction of what I’m about. If you’re not, or you’d prefer to know more, you should go read my blogs. Better yet, go play one of my games, or check out some of my other creative ventures. Still not satisfied? Neither am I; let’s meet on Twitter, or Facebook, or LinkedIn, if you’re into that sort of thing. After all, a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet.
This might not have been the first page you’ve read on my website, but you made it here eventually didn’t you? Thanks for taking the time, and remember: All roads lead home eventually.
